Congratulations to Bridges & Bigelow
Already in 1996 Kathryn Bigelow paid a visit to the 19th festival to screen her film ”Strange Days”. We are therefore, happy and proud over her triumph at the Oscars 2010. No less than six oscars went to the Iraque portray ”The Hurt Locker” Among others for Best Picture and Directing – the first female winner ever. (Not a day too early but many days too late.)
A while ago the audience at GIFF enjoyed Jeff Bridges great performance in Crazy Heart during the 33rd Göteborg International Film Festival. At this years Oscars he received the award for the role as the country musician Bad Blake. Crazy Heart is now up on swedish theatres and includes, of course, a good soundtrack. The soundtrack also contains the Oscar Award winning original song: ”The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)” by Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett.
